This was after I had finished the centrepiece for my Sunday‘s dinner table and before I have realised that it weighs well over fifty pounds (I have put a lot of sand in the pot to stabilise the base) and that I am not able to move it safely onto the dinner table by myself. 😤 It smelled heavenly though, of apples and roses 🍎🍁🌹 This is a kind of table decoration they’d have used at the royal Court in ⚜️ Versailles ⚜️ – except that then they’d put it on very massive silver platters, all fruit would be hand polished to high lustre and presumably they had enough footmen to carry it onto the King’s table 😁
